Artists For Harmony Mural: Time-Lapse

As part of the Artists For Harmony Outreach Program, Michael Trulis created a mural titled “7053″ at the Illinois Center For Rehabilitation and Education. With the help from generous volunteers, including several wonderful students from Hancock College Prep. High School, the design came to life.

The mural, which is titled after Rosa Parks’ mugshot number, portrays various other inspirational African American figures including Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Gwendolyn Brooks, President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Derrick Rose, and Buddy Guy.

Matthew Santos: Grammy-nominated artist Matthew Santos has established himself as one of the rare and striking talents quickly emerging from the Chicago music scene.  With an ethereal voice that has been the praise of artists such as Eddie Vedder, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna, Santos has secured his place in current music with his distinguished style and elusive musical gift.  Far from all of the sound and fury of the modern music trends, Santos is quietly rising into one of the most remarkable voices of his generation.

Michael Trulis: Artists for Harmony president, educator, mixed media artist, and croquet extraordinaire.

2 Sparrows: A seasonally–driven breakfast, lunch and brunch outpost located in the heart of Chicago’s charming Lincoln Park neighborhood, 2Sparrows features the contemporary American comfort fare of Chef/Partner Gregory Ellis, and a service and beverage program overseen by General Manager/Partner Steven Fladung. The two friends grew up together in Chicago’s western suburbs, and worked simultaneously — Gregory in the kitchen and Steven in the front of the house — at their esteemed training ground, Charlie Trotter’s.
